Monitor Calibration

I’ve bought quite a few prints from RedBubble since I joined about 10 months ago. Whilst I’ve always been very happy with the quality of the prints, they always looked a little darker than on screen.

The other day, a friend of mine found a web site that goes through a procedure to calibrate your monitor, without the need for any external hardware – so I gave it a try.

After lots of going back and forth adjusting brightness, contrast and gamma, my monitor now shows images very close to what gets printed.

The site is: http://www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/, it’s worth taking a look.

As a result of this, I have adjusted some of my pictures (mostly sunsets) to increase their brightness.

If you do give it a try, I’d be interested to know what you think.
