I went to the Global Winter Wonderland at Great America in Santa Clara, California thinking I was going to get a few shots of some cool lights. 200+ shots later, I got some pictures of cool lights. Lots of ’em.
The displays at this show are called lanterns, and technically, I guess they are. Most are steel frames with colored or painted silk stretched over them, and are illuminated from the inside. There is one display made up of tea cups and soupspoons. There are others using light ropes and LEDs. Way cool. There are over fourty large lanterns, some 50 feet high, and/or about 100 feet long. There are also lots and lots of smaller ones.
The hard part for me now is to select just a few to post here at the Bubble. Hope you like my selections. If you would like to see more of them here, visit my Flickr page below and let me know which one, or ones, you would like here.
