is the colloquial term for the centre-mounted nut that retains the chrome wire wheel of a classic wire wheeled sports car. These were left or right hand threaded depending on the direction of rotation of the wheel, and are “handed” to each side of the car, with the legend neatly stamped “NEAR” (Left) or “OFF” (Right) sides on their front surfaces.
