Artist's Description

It is not every day one finds a memorial to somebody killed by a whale. I find it difficult to feel uncharitable towards the marine mammal responsible, as it was usually the other way around.

I made this image during a visit to Saint David’s Park in Hobart, Tasmania as I was putting the first roll of film through a classic Voigtlander Vitessa 35mm rangefinder I had recently repaired and serviced.
