I have been involved in photography for quite a few years. I used 35mm, 645, 2 1/4 × 2/1/4, and 2 1/4 × 2 3/4 film cameras until about eighteen months ago when I began taking digital seriously. Prior to that I used a pocket digital and even then was excited about what digital brought to the table. As megapixels have improved to 8, 10, and greater, and noise is constantly being beaten down, I see little future for film cameras except as a retro means of photography. Some people still produce glass slides and use pin-hole cameras because there is a desire and I believe a need to stay attached to our roots and not loose sight of where our art began. I’m sure larger formats such as 5×7 and 8×10 will also endure with their large format cameras having the ability to tilt and swing and produce fantastic product photography as well as in-depth landscapes that can be captured at f64! Somehow, although while I think he would be intrigued by digital, I can’t see Ansel giving up his 8×10 when photographing Half-Dome! Having said all that, I love all aspects of photography from Macro to Portraits, Landscapes to Rusty locks hanging on a barn door. I hope to find people on this site that will share my vision of photography and whose work I too will enjoy seeing. I hope some of you will drop by and give me a holler! (Southern speak for chat). Hope to hear from you.

We Are

Step by step / along the path / of life and love and living, / We hold dear / the fruits of work / and the joy / of true giving. / The ebb and flow / of birth and death: / the essence of life seeing, / Love and loving / is the goal — / A litmus test for being.

Cannons roar and armies march / and all the Earth is shaken. / Blood is shed on foreign soil / as our mother’s sons are taken. / Fight and live or fight and die, / do we really know the reason? / Time swirls ’round in endless flight / as all things find their season.
