Artist's Description

This is a restaurant that sits along the Schuykill River that runs through Philadelphia. The Water Works area includes the water plant that pulls water from the river for use in Philly as well as restaurants, parks, etc. Just up the hill from this point is the Philadelphia Art Museum made famous in the “Rocky” movies as Rocky trained by running up the large stairway in front of the museum. Nearby is Boathouse Row which has become a “signature” shot of Philadelphia. This is a row of boathouses that hold the shells and schulls of those who participate in the sport of rowing. The univerisities like Ivy League Penn keep their equipment here. The thing that has put Boathouse Row on the map is that each house is outlined with lights year round. Many photos of the houses with a backdrop of the Philly skyline are taken each year. If you want to see this: type Boathouse Row, Philadelphia into your browser. It is a beautiful shot and one I want to attempt soon myself.
