Artist's Description

The sealed road ends for us at the town of Kabale. We stop here for supplies and to rest for the night. In the morning I see people going about their daily lives, working, talking, and
riding bikes. Where are they going? What are they doing?
Kabale is the chief town of Kabale District in South Western Uganda. Kabale municipality has 41,344 inhabitants and lies 2000m above sea level. It is a market town and a transport hub as the main road from Kampala continues through the town south to the border with Rwanda at Gatuna, 10 km away. It is our stopover on our way to Rwanda to see the Mountain Gorillas. It is a small town but densely populated, a popular stop for the tourists, and I am one of them.
