Brandi was born and raised in Southern California, not far from Disneyland. Not surprisingly, Disney was her first great inspiration for art and color and stirred a love for animation.

The bulk of her early art education came from a phenomenal high school teacher who encouraged Brandi to try a number of different mediums and techniques and eventually inspired Brandi to pursue art as a career.

Brandi studied illustration at Cal State Long Beach where she fell in love with portraiture and began pursuing that avenue, becoming enthralled by artist Alphonse Mucha’s use of line and color.

Brandi eventually headed back to Disneyland where she created portraits for tourists and guests before moving on to do chalkboard art, murals and advertisements for local stores.

Brandi teaches both private and group classes, imparting the knowledge of art and pastels she has gained through her own experiences. She demonstrates pastels yearly at the University of Oregon’s Tools of the Trade show and is a member of the fine art education team with Imagination International Inc., and demonstrates Copic marker use at art stores, schools and trade shows around the West Coast. She also taught online classes with Creative Ladder.

Brandi loves talking art with others and is always looking to learn something new. When not creating art, Brandi is an avid gamer, knitter and tea drinker.
