Artist's Description

This is a section of the Beech Hedge at Meikleour in Perthshire about 10 minutes from where I stay. Perthshire is known as Big Tree country as the soil is perfect for trees – some of which are very old. Many are beech trees as is this hedge and in Autumn their leaves turn into beautiful shades of red, yellow, gold and orange. I took 8 photos today but as it is by the road I had to dodge a few cars!! The light is difficult too as sun was shining on one side whereas the other side was in shade partly due to the height of the trees.. this photo gives a better impression of the length of the hedge because it also goes round a corner and is hundreds of metres in length.
