Back in February, my family and I went for a short holiday down south in East Sussex. I was pleased to find out that we were not very far from a castle that I have been wanting to visit since moving here nearly 20 years ago. Bodium Castle “is a 14th-century moated castle near Robertsbridge in East Sussex, England. It was built in 1385 by Sir Edward Dalyngrigge, a former knight of Edward III, with the permission of Richard II.” It’s a beautiful castle with such a rich history; a survivor of the romantic era with a substantial moat around the whole of the structure. I decided to take one morning and drive to the castle to get early photos, before lots of visitors started arriving. Unfortunately, there wasn’t much foliage because it’s the middle of February, but as the sun hit the stone of the castle wall, I was stunned by the view. I hope you like it as well.
