Artist's Description

“You can’t smell the flowers in this field. The only fragrance in the air is of life gone stale. I walk through a stone garden, cold and still. I take in the script of past accomplishments, life’s joy and sadness, families left behind, and loved ones lost. The stone garden stands to remind us of what is important: living life to the full. The stilled voices call us to “seize the day.” Don’t leave things unaccomplished, nor joys left unexperienced. Don’t wait to hold a hand or say “I love you.” Don’t miss out on all God has for you. Start today, and never stop. Then one day when you come to stay in the garden, you too can pass on the wisdom of age, for many generations to come."

This was taken in Whitby, in the grave yard behind St. Hilda’s church next to the Abbey. It is a fabulous place really. On this occasion, the clouded sky created a perfect background.

HP PhotoSmart C945 bridge camera, f/3, shutter 1.5", ISO 200, Infrared filter
