With Saddened Eyes

With saddened eyes weeping tears like rain,
To fall down upon the plains to hide the shame,
A gift is forgotten by those grown lame,
Now only words that lack true meaning with each passing day.

A gift that held hopes as blue as the skies,
And as magical as the stars which light up the night,
Now lay hidden by pollution hindering their sight,
While our children’s hearts follow a similar plight.

Hope for mankind to join as one,
With a unity meant to shine like the sun,
Easily taken away by false words from false God’s,
While Religions taint Holy words to increase their sums.

With arms meant to comfort the needy,
We have lost all sense of God’s true meaning,
As it is greed we are leaning,
Not caring if it’s demeaning.

Humanity has been leased,
To countries that want it to cease,
Taking us further from peace,
With each political speech.

Artist's Description

This was originally a poem about the general situation that saddens this country concerning powers thought to be acting in our best interest. Then I saw the President last night lying to us once again and realized that this piece can also be construed as current. I’m not sure why the American people are going to be forced to bail out basically three major financial institutes when these same institutes wouldn’t lift a finger to help you if you needed it. My sister is one of the victims of the current foreclosures terrorizing families in this country and even though she has explained to the mortgage company (one of the ones that have gone down and we are supposed to save by the way) that her funds were cut off due to being laid off, they didn’t care, wouldn’t work with her at all and now next month her home will be auctioned. If these lending institutions were really worried about their money, why didn’t they work with her and others by taking a smaller payment for the time being until these families got back on their feet. This would have kept them receiving the money owed to them and the families would still have a home. Also Bush is trying to tell you that if we do not bail them out, jobs will be lost and it will be harder to acquire loans and we will be in a recession. News Bulletin George! Americans are already losing jobs, we are at an all time unemployment high in this country-that you are supposedly running-and helping these institutions will only affect the rich and large corporations, Not the middle class who are already suffering. It’s time America starts to remember that it’s the middle class worker who really is the backbone of this country and not the CEO’s who couldn’t get the job done if he was required to step in and do what we do. I’m not sure about you, but I know I’m tired of breaking my back for underpay, threat of job loss while I stand there and watch my paycheck move to Mexico and know that the so called heads of these corporations are padding their own. I think its come time to let these so called leaders and bosses know that they need us more then we need them and quit bailing them out. Think about it when you are facing an avalanche of bills that you’re job has left you with and your only chance might be bankruptcy only to find out you made too much and can’t. Forcing you to give half of your much needed money to the same corporations who put you in this situation while the multi-billion dollar companies can freely file full bankruptcy so they can re-open in a few months under another name. Fair huh? Sorry about the rambling, this is just my opinion.
