Artist's Description

An alternative take on Alice in Wonderland.

“One side makes you larger, and other makes you small,” said the caterpillar.

Alice broke a piece off the right-side of the mushroom and nibbled at it a little… Moments after, she began to feel…. Curious… The trees suddenly seemed to become larger, the plants and animals were towering above her like dinosaurs. “How curious,” said Alice.

Borrowing from the Alice in Wonderland story, metaphorically speaking, the ‘creative’ right-side of the brain is the right-side of the mushroom Alice takes a bite from. It makes her smaller, where she sees the world from another perspective. In a sense, this is quite a personal piece because it represents the swift change of perspective and how I view the world after submerging myself into the arts / design world.

Model / talent: ‘Domini’

Photomontage with drawn elements in fine liner, Japanese calligraphic ink, gouache and shellac.
