Artist's Description

This picture was taken in October 2004 in downtown Tampa, Florida. I was walking the streets with a friend of mine, who is also a photographer and I came across this church. The church was across the street and in front of me was a tree. I thought it was so interesting that this city had this regal church among the steel jungle. So I placed my camera directly in front of the tree so I could get some of the branches in the shot, this is what the two vertical lines are in the image. I positioned the camera so the statue was visible. I also wanted to grab the building to the right of the church to display industry next to religion; it seems like a great example of duplicity. As for the blue tint, I used a blue filter on my camera and later used a computer program intensify the blue hue. This photo would look great in office, living room or even a church.
