…sitting having a break from shooting, and an espresso, on an outside bench. i turned to look at the array of cups and shelves, and this way cool winter morning reflection of elizabeth street, and now, sadly defunct, but legendary melbourne watering hole – the stork hotel…
…a young guy driving a forklift at the market, was not too keen on me photographing him, which was cool, but then he got quite upset when i was shooting some produce on a truck, so i had to show him an artistic rendition of twenty boxes of mushrooms, all exactly the same, and he backed off. now this could’ve ruined my morning. this was the second early morning shoot of the marketeers and their wares. the first one was awesome. people were feeding me, and smiling, and joyous. so to cut a long story short, i sat down for some breakfast and a latte, and to cool my heels, and shutter a little. and when i sat down on an outside bench, and, put my coffee down, was looking at the stork hotel, wondering why as an incredible piece of history, and inner city den of iniquity, was this beautiful old melbourne pub closed.
i turned to my left, and looked at the cups in the window, and then into the shop itself, then letting my vision expand, i thought, hmmmmmm coffee……and then saw this reflection in the window as my vision retracted…..
