Artist's Description

I have a blind set up by my feeders and decided to spend about an hour there this afternoon. I caught this Blue Jay when he flew up to this perch to eat a Sunflower seed. Today was an overcast day as well. That is when I truly like to capture Blue Jays as I can use the flash and bring out the most vivid color in the blue plumage without worrying about the sunlight washing out the color. I was very happy with this one for that same reason. I hope you enjoy! :)

This was taken in my backyard in Cortland NY.

The scientific name for this species is: Cyanocitta cristata.
