Time for tea

Time for tea

Sunlight cuts the early morning
somewhere outside a day is dawning.
See the shadows run away
to hide beneath the trees.
Feel the warmth of the sun
pushed gently by the breeze.
Breakfast always seems to miss me
say’s goodbye the you kiss me.
Daytimes always run like children
they skip along so easily.
Until it comes to afternoons
and then it’s time for tea.
Evenings always seem so far away
they never seem to want to stay.
We lose the time when we’re alone
yet always both together.
Can’t we make the evenings last
and go on and on forever.
