Taxi.....

Taxi…..

She is standing at the kerb,
a large suitcase at her feet,
glancing at her wrist watch,
looks up and down the street,
Its late, She’ll wait.

Behind her the house dark,
drapes to keep out the light,
her keys put in the letterbox,
front door is locked up tight,
shut gate, more wait.

It’d been a whirlwind romance,
filled with sweetness and light,
laughed all through the day,
made love through the night,
so great, then hate.

House his, he made that clear,
but she was no longer right,
so while he was away, again,
she was walking into the night,
bad trait, wipe slate.

Then the taxi arrives to take her,
how to make a start once more,
pulling away, don’t to look back,
flames flicker, around the door,
can’t wait, fire like fate.

Taxi.....
