Band

Band

There is a gold band on my hand, I know there’s one on yours too,
from when I promised faithfully to another, as then once did you.
That was long ago, time has moved some people farther apart,
as with you now I have a yearning, its lying deep within my heart.

Freedom is a right, but peoples feelings count for so much more,
we are held like prisoners in our lives, can’t just walk out the door.
As like hostages, held by ties that can’t always be seen so clear,
but we have paid our ransom, by the hour, the week and the year.

So soon our time might be our own, our destiny to find once more,
when we can walk like lovers, on sandy beaches, deserted shore.
There to love and be loved in return, to share our need to live,
in sandy dunes under a fiery sun, you my heart and soul I’d give.

Then to walk content to distant spots to repeat the lovers game,
we’d make love so many ways, for which some there is no name.
Until weary we would return, to rest our now in each other arms,
to awake with a new passion, always stirred by my loves charms.

Our days would drift full of summer, our summers last all year,
never far from each others hand, our heart beats always near.
We would live so happily, never looking back to view our lost past,
we will be our own concern, with a life long love that will so last.
