Artist's Description

This was the first day we haven’t had 40mph plus winds in about 3 months. For a guy who lives for reflection pictures, this was big (they really should make a trans-dermal patch for reflection junkies). I was so excited driving home from work, clouds everywhere, no wind, Bob paradise. Sunset took for freaking ever to finally arrive, and when it did I was at the spot in the Dells behind Willow Lake where I knew there would be nothing but glass for water. I set up my tripod on the edge of a rock plateau, attached the camera and wide angle, took a moment to calm myself, put my eye up to the viewfinder, found a great angle right off the bat, thought about what aperture I would use, then I heard the light plunk. My beautiful reflection suddenly had ripples. I looked up. Crap!
I spent the next 30 minutes standing under a rock shelf as the rain came down on the gorgeous sunset color that was, I repeat , was, reflecting to perfection in this little cove. Once the rain stopped, the color was almost completely gone. I like this shot, but you should have seen it a half hour before. Where’s that patch?
