Artist's Description

Posted today (April 26, 2011) in honor of the 226th anniversary of the birth of John James Audubon.

We met this bird in the Australian Outback at the approach to Simpsons Gap. His species name is unknown to me.

Photo was taken with my Minolta DiMage 7i DSLR camera. Set at ISO-100, f/3.5, 1/180 sec.

Simpsons Gap is in West MacDonnell National Park in the Northern Territory (Australia), The MacDonnell Ranges are west of Alice Springs, (1,234 km south of Darwin).
