Artist's Description

The great white egret is often mistaken for a heron. The white feathered heron is a Great Blue Heron.

There are visible differences: the heron has a Robin Hood cap plume on the back of his head, and has orange legs.
The egret’s legs are black.

This was taken in February 2008, on a cypress lined river just south of Leesburg Florida USA. The Image was captured with my Konica-Minolta Dimage A2.

This image was captured near where I captured the picture of the Great Blue Heron in February 2009.
