Artist's Description

This was taken in the museum at Cairo. It was taken with my little Fuji Coolpix 2meg camera in 2003. It was the shot of the trip. The one that sang out and inspired me to reignite my interest in taking pictures.

I couldn’t believe that I was able to take a pic like this in such dreadful conditions, low light, the mask was in a glass case and there was about 3 million other tourists lined up to take the same shot. It was simply a matter of putting the little camera on “museum” setting and hoping for the best.

I was really impressed with what the camera managed to produce and from then on its been a continuous learning curve.

And all the hours of enjoyment I have had can be traced back to this one shot.
