Artist's Description

The British aviators John William Alcock and Arthur Whitten Brown did not pass few calamities on their transatlantic flight between June 14 and 15, 1919. Mechanical failures, fog, ice on the wings, extreme cold, difficulties only suitable for adventurous spirits, motivated by overcoming established limits as impossible.
Due to a failure in the electric generator, they could not use their heated suits apart from having to endure a deafening engine noise that prevented communication.
In spite of everything they could reach their destination and with them the 196 letters and a package becoming the first transoceanic postal flight.

Los aviadores británicos John William Alcock y Arthur Whitten Brown no pasaron pocas calamidades en su vuelo transatlántico entre el 14 y el 15 de junio de 1919. Fallos mecánicos, niebla, hielo en las alas, frío extremo, dificultades solo aptas para espíritus aventureros, motivados por la superación de los límites establecidos como imposibles.
Debido a un fallo en el generador eléctrico, no pudieron utilizar sus trajes calefactables además de tener que soportar un ensordecedor ruido de motor que impedía la comunicación.
Pese a todo pudieron llegar a destino y con ellos las 196 cartas y un paquete convirtiéndose en el primer vuelo postal transoceánico.
