The Lonely Night Express

Time passes slowly
As this feeling of loneliness consumes her
These last few years
Things aren’t what they once were

She looks around and notices
The world is changing fast
Yet still, she can’t seem to drag
Her thoughts away from the past

Who once was such a smart young girl
Has now grown and lost her way
Paralyzed by the bitterness she holds
Because everyone walks away

She locks herself inside her head
Wishing that someone would care
Because these feelings are eating her up inside
But she’s too afraid to share

So for now she’ll sit alone at night
Wishing on the brightest star
That someday, someone will come along that understands
And it won’t be very far
