The second verse of the well known hymn “Abide with me!” set over a picture of a lemon water lily growing in the grounds of the Preston Temple, Chorley, Lancashire, UK. The hymn focuses on the fragility of human existence and the loneliness that many experience in times of trouble, when their so called friends melt away like snow on the roof, and calls upon God for strength and succor.
