Artist's Description

Stained glass windows, including a cartwheel window depicting the arms of the City of Sydney, are an architectural feature of the Queen Victoria Building in Sydney, Australia.

The Queen Victoria Building, or QVB, is a late nineteenth century building by the architect George McRae in the central business district. The Romanesque Revival building is 190m long by 30 wide, and fills a city block.

The building steadily deteriorated and in 1959 was threatened with demolition. It was restored between 1984 and 1986. This building is now listed on the State Heritage Register.
