Stifled Creativity

I feel so trapped, living in this city.

Everywhere I look I see buildings and dying trees…

I once found this place an exotic, mysterious creature, with vehicles flowing through the veins of the city, each with a purpose and a destination.

My eyes see a block wall of buildings, my spirit feels trapped.

I remember when I was in the countryside, free to wander among the fields of green, ever-changing scenery through the seasons.

I felt safe surrounded by nature’s true beauty, the sounds and smells of living, breathing world.

Now I feel that world has forgotten me, left me imprisoned in this made-made hell.

By day, I’m suffocated, tired and forgotten.

But by night as the city sleeps, I lie awake and remember the place I loved and lost.
