Romantic Moment

Hailey squinted at an envelope, trying to decipher the address. She sighed and added it to the closest pile, and scowled at a flickering light.
Tom picked up a small brown paper package, addressed to Mr. Wittacker in Ellis Street.
‘Hmm, what’s that Mr. Wittacker up to? Triple X, I reckon.’ They all snickered.
‘Stop it, Tommo,’ said Hailey.
‘Ohh, miss goody-goody, you never wonder about any of this mail, do ya?’ replied Tom shaking his finger at her. Hailey groaned and rolled her eyes.
‘Smoko time,’ said Tom, teasing.
‘Yeah, great Tommo, you know I’m tryna’ give up,’ said Hailey, biting her lip.
‘Ah, come on Hails, you goina die some day,’ said Pete.
‘Gee, thanks for that positive outlook, mate,’ replied Hailey, ‘I’ll pass.’ Pete shrugged, pocketed his PJ Blues and grabbed Tom on his way out.
Hailey frowned as they jostled out the door. Shaking her head, she continued the sorting. She picked up a postcard from Switzerland, addressed to Mrs. Smith. The snowy mountains looked unappealing.
‘A sunny holiday would be great. Hmm…’ she mused aloud as she picked up a postcard of a seascape.
To my Bella, I miss you when I walk the beach. So lonely. Please hurry back. Ti amo, your Marcello. xx.
Hailey held the postcard to her chest and heard the deep voice of the Italian Marcello…Hailey mia bella…a strand of hair fell across her face. She looked across the water and a tender hand tucked the loose hair behind her ear as he placed his lips on her neck. Goosebumps erupted along her arms and down her thighs. With eyes closed, a smile danced on her lips and her nipples hardened as he stroked the small of her back. The warm sun burned into her shoulders and the waves caressed her toes. Slowly, Hailey sank to her knees; her breath shortened. Yes, yes, Marcello…
The sorting room door burst open as Tom and Pete thumped in breaking into Hailey’s interlude. The shock sent her reeling. She cut herself on the paper edge of the postcard as her stool toppled from under her. Whack! Her head collected the corner of the table on her way to the floor.
She opened her eyes. Tom beamed at her over the top of the postcard in his fist.
‘Hey, Hails, must’a been a good trip, ay. How’s Marcello?’ he handed Pete the card, stiffling a laugh.
‘Yeah, Hails, you gotta be careful of those holiday romances, ya know,’ added Pete grinning.
‘Yeah, you know what else mate? Paper cuts are the deadliest,’ Tom tried a serious face as Hailey sat on the floor, sucking her bloody finger.
Clouds of laughter billowed around the room. Hailey scrambled to her feet, her face crimson, glad they didn’t know that she was squeezing her thighs in an attempt to banish the throbbing sensation that still lingered.
