Artist's Description

Many of my drawings are inspired by folklore, songs and faerie tales. ‘Thomas the Rhymer’ is a traditional ballad about the eponymous hero’s encounter with the Queen of the Elves. She shows him the paths to Heaven and Hell before leading him down the path to Elfland:

“And see not ye that bonny road,
That winds about the fernie brae?
That is the road to fair Elfland,
Where thou and I this night maun gae”

My vision includes a set of Standing Stones. It’s no secret that many myths surround these ancient monuments and a good number link them to the faerie world and the supernatural.
