Artist's Description

The evening sun as seen through the smoke of a forest fire in the Cajon Pass. This pass is one of the primary transportation routes through the San Bernardino and Angeles National Forests which separate the Mojave Desert and areas north from the valleys and cities of Southern California. Often in the dry summer months a traveler will see smoke or flames from fires that regularly burn along and around the freeway and railroads that cut through this region.
