Less than 24 hours after arriving in Israel, Palestinians made good on their threat to attack Israel with rockets while the American President was visiting. Barack Obama, freshly arrived in the Middle East for his first visit to the Holy Land since first taking office, had been welcomed with a red carpet and throngs of dignitaries on the tarmac at Ben Gurion International Airport. Practically before he even had time to enjoy a local pita with felafel before the fireworks from the South West started flying North. On news of the threats, the editorial cartoon illustrator for the binary options news drew this political caricature of President Obama and Prime Minister Netanyahu observing the Iron Dome in action. Mr. Obama is seen as asking Mr. Netanyahu if the system could be modified to save the fiscal situation of Cyprus. As both of these stories were unfolding simultaneously, the image was presented on March 21, 2013 by OptionsClick (which also provides the award-winning trading platform at http://www.optionsclick.com) for readers of the political and economic news. This double caricature demonstrates how art can tie together various disparate issues with the stroke of a pen; or rather, with many strokes of a various implements of inscription. It also makes for a lighthearted view of rather serious matters. Sometimes, artists use this method to draw attention to issues that might otherwise be overlooked or dismissed by an apathetic public.
