The Look

It’s one of life’s biggest mysteries
And it’s not solved in any book
It’s a power every mother has
We’ll just call it “the look”

As things are getting bad
And dad goes for his belt
Mom just gives you “the look”
We all know how that felt

If a picture says a thousand words
It can’t even keep pace
With all that we see, feel and fear
When mom gets “the look” upon her face

Where do they get this power
No one can ever say
But with all of the years that have past
“The look” still works today
