Artist's Description

Canon EOS 5D MkI, EF-100mm, f4.0, 1/60 sec.

I’ve been told more than once by my family that I’m hopeless.
At least when it comes to processing my family event pictures before everyone’s moved on to the next one. Which is especially a problem with pics of my grandson Luigi who’s growing up so fast that even ones taken a week ago look out of date!

But the fortunate thing about pictures of kids is that we never really get tired of looking back.
SO… with flowers blooming and trees budding on a beautiful spring day outside my Sanctuary window, I’m gonna finally post some of the pictures I took when Melanie, Art and Luigi came to visit us over Christmas.
Which incidentally could be the most fabulous Christmas we’ve ever had chez Funk. Good food, good drink, great laughs, fabulous adventure… and the kid never vomited once. Well, at least not in MY lap…:-)

Above, chilling out on the sofa after Christmas dinner… while everyone else was watching Walking Dead trailers, the little guy was busy texting his girlfriend. Got a sneaky feeling hearts are gonna be broken before his time’s done !

Below: just goofin’ around… something we probably did more of than anything else over the Holidays. Which was kinda cool considering how serious I am the rest of the year. (:-)

here’s one of Luigi with his great aunt, my sista Barb. Barb’s head is in reality slightly bigger than Luigi’s… maybe I should lay off the wide angle for a bit…

Now here’s one that Bev and I were sure Melanie would hate cause neither of ‘em looks much like they do in actual real life. But when it uploaded to my monitor I literally LOL’d and it was all nutz n’ fun and pure goof so I sent it to Mel anyways… she ended up using it as her FB avatar :-)))

The series wouldn’t be complete without a candid BW. No need to dream up a caption, the way it actually came down was thus:
Luigi: “Mommy, is that bourbon I smell on daddy’s breath?”
Mel: “Yes baby. And you can blame your granddad…”

So there it is, a quick look back to an amazing couple of weeks in the continuing cycle of life. Just turned ‘round to make sure spring was still blooming outside my window… at least in winter I don’t gotta mow the lawn. Or cut back the ivy on the shed…
Having said that, NUTHIN’s better than a cold beer after mowin’ the lawn…

Thanx for lookin’ :-))
