A Quiet Word

As I woke the other morning the words of a poem were forming in my head, i could not stop the thoughts … so I arose and wrote down the following…. it took me about 30 minutes, I suppose, I really do not know …. I just wrote as the words appeared in my consciousness.
So I called it …………..

“Come walk with Me”, The Lord said
“I’d like a quiet word.
The time has come to use you
To share what you have heard”

“But I am old and feeble, Lord,
I would not be any use”
It came from my mouth so very lame,
Sounded like excuse.

The Lord looked at me and raised one eyebrow….. and I realised it was the Creator of the Universe, the Name above All Names, the Almighty God of Heaven, who by His own doing cannot tell a lie, who was talking to me!

“How old was Abraham when I called him to be father of many nations?
How old was Noah when he started to build the Ark ?
And do not forget my ministry in human form as Jesus Christ only lasted three and a half years”.

“Come walk and talk with Me”, The Lord said,
“Of things from distant page,
Of those plans I made for you,
Which are coming now of age”.

“My son, for you are My son
I adopted you as my own.
…A thought you never contemplated
Before the seed was sown”.

I am in awe before Almighty God,
Whose fingers span the universe.
Who died upon that cross,
Resurrected to clear the curse.

Even then I said, “Lord,
This is too much to do”.
“You cannot do it on your own,
I never asked you to!”

“I have always given myself to you”
Said the Lord.
“When you gave yourself to me,
That’s when I came on board!”

“So you see old and feeble man,
My almighty spirit dwells within,
You are born again to eternal life,
So can we please begin!!”

“Oh Glory, Lord of Hosts, King of Kings
You are the centre of my life.
Yes, use me any way you can,
No matter if pain or strife”

“Come walk with Me”, The Lord said,
I’d like a quiet word,
For the Quiet Word is what you need
To separate from herd.

“Come walk with Me”, The Lord said,
“Come listen to my voice,
Discern the Truth that is My Word,
Make it your daily choice.”

“OH, Thankyou Lord” I cried out,
Tears streaming down my face.
“I Love you son”, The Lord said,
And filled me with His Grace.
