Artist's Description

This shot was taken at Cragside in Northumberland (UK), the home built by Armstrong that could boast self sufficient electrical and hydraulic power and the first to use those new fangled electric lights. The grounds provide raised lakes whose water was used to drive generators and store fresh rainwater for for the plants. On one of these lakes was a mobile art work consisting of three tethered pilot-less dingies to suggest the power of the wind and the water. This was one of the three, photographed to concentrate the viewers attention on the dingy and not the water’s edge or the forest surrounding it.
