Tree Swallow resting on the bird house post while looking at me. Photo taken in my backyard 06/15/2007. I have bluebird nesting boxes and purple martin gourds in my yard and around the property line. Sad to say, the tree swallows have taken over the nesting boxes and gourds. A bluebird isn’t a territory bird they will let sparrows or tree swallows take over their nesting boxes and go somewhere else for nesting. The photo was taken in the village of Orwell Hill, PA.
