Lemming the Lettuce Leaf

Hello. My name is lemming. I am a lettuce leaf. If you are thinking, ‘I wonder if he likes being a lettuce leaf?’ then the answer is yes. Yes, I do. One time a worm crawled on me and I was thinking, ‘how very unpleasant’, but then I got to know this worm and it wasn’t so bad. He introduced himself and said his name was George. As he gnawed on my epidermis he told me of his travels to the furthest regions of the donkey pen, and of his wild adventures across the front yard. I asked him if he thought we could become friends. He told me no, he didn’t think it would work out since he likes to travel, and I could only move if a gust of wind picked me up or if maybe a strange dog grabbed me in his mouth and carried me around. PLUS he said that he would gnaw on me too much and soon I would not be much of a friend, or a lettuce leaf, for that matter. Anyway, I’m glad now because worms are very slimy and dirty. And they smell funny.
