Artist's Description

Gazing into the mirror of this beautiful old wardrobe made me wonder about years gone by … about the past and the people who occupied these old cottages and the simple lives they lived. Many of my convict ancestors came from the Wilberforce and surrounding Hawkesbury area so to me I felt a real belonging to this particular scene.

To know our past is to know who we are.
To know who has gone before allows us to know the journey we must travel. To know the lives our ancestors lived provides us with the ability to cope with today’s trials and tribulations

To say thank you is the least we can do

Taken during the recent Christmas Redbubble Rumble at the Australiana Pioneer Village at Wilberforce NSW Australia.

Taken with the Nikon D700, 28-300 mm lens @ 32 mm, F8, 1/20 sec, ISO 3200, hand held.

Processed in Corel Paintshop Photo Pro x 3, 3 x original images @ +3, 0, -3, merged and tone mapped then presented as a Daguerreotype effect image, a process used 1839 – 1855, first popular form of photography. Images were captured directly on a thin piece of silver plated copper. Because no negative was produced, copies could not be made so each image was unique.
