Artist's Description

Just one of the many angles I captured of old brick structures still standing of the old blast furnace in Lithgow.

The Blast Furnace at Lithgow in NSW Australia was established in 1886 by William Sandford and operated until 1928 when production was moved to Port Kembla. The unfenced site is now a park where you can wander amongst the remains of the pump house and the furnace foundations. Watch your step and especially watch the remnants of the surviving towering structures. The huge cracks indicate it will one day be no more.

This image was taken with the Nikon D90, Tamron 18-270 mm lens, hand held.
