There is nothing else that makes you feel great than cracking the ice of the car as you head out to find some early morning foggy scenery in Australian country towns. On this occasion we were attending the Art Unlimited Exhibition at Dunedoo in the central west of NSW, and stayed in the “full of character” Royal Hotel there – now no longer a pub but a B&B and country cafe. We basically had the town to ourselves at this time of day as no one else was mad enough to up and exploring other than the two Phils – Phil Woodman and Philip Johnson. We found this spot on the other side of the railway line on the Mendooran Road … and I believe the sign post said “all weather road”. A few cattle put their heads up from feeding to greet us or maybe to say you are mad. This image is typical of the dry grasses in the area that in their own way are quite beautiful and well worthy of capturing. I love this type of country.
