Lonely Dream

I lay in bed, awake, alone

Remembering things Ive never known

Your head upon my shoulder there

The scent of lightly perfumed hair

I hold you in a warm embrace

And gently touch your lovely face

I cannot help but softly grin

As I feel your breath against my skin

I feel your heartbeat on my chest

So close against me, you are pressed

And though I try, you not to wake

Im thrilled by every move you make

You nuzzle me, your head you raise

Our eyes meet locked in loving gaze

You part your lips close to my ear

And whisper words I cannot hear

I wake up startled, you are gone

Im in my bed, awake, alone.
