Belinda Wilson graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Art at the University of Newcastle in 2007. Her work is quintessentially post-modern, she uses a variety of different techniques including painting, ink drawing, collage and embroidery.

Belinda’s experience in design gives her work a very graphic, illustrative edge. She says “I purposely leave parts of my work unfinished and don’t mind the odd mistake as I want to bring across the hand-made aspect of my art, without the perfection that computer art can sometimes provide”.

Her works create a sense of mystery, fantasy, freedom and introspection, to which the viewer is asked to ponder the narrative for themselves. Like polaroid photographs, you are given glimpses into her subjects and beckoned to question their personal lives and minds.

Belinda is largely influenced by Oriental art as you can see by her use of colour and line.
