Artist's Description

The interior of this figure is coated by red oil paint, rose & poppy petals and a thick layer of varnish. I was working with the concept that the interiority of the subject extends through pysche and soma; that the experience of subjective embodiment is fluid, that our consciousness is a spatial substance. This work plays with the boundary between interiority & exteriority. In the pregnant woman the blurring of these boundaries is pronounced.
