Death and Fire - The Difference Between Vampyres and Werewolves

It has astonded humans for centuries that both the Vampyre and Werewolf civilizations have specific burial techniques to which they impose on all of their ‘deceased’ persons. Although there are mamy similarites, there is one major difference between the two peoples practices. Fire.

Werewolf legends tell that the only way the werewolf spirit or soul can be released from its’ earthly body to join its’ bretheren in the high reaches of paradice, is for the deceased body to be fed to the flames of Equalix, and then for the ashes to be sealed inside a bless├ęd container.

Many Werewolves belive this to be true, however there are many others who believe that the flames do not have to be born from the Temple of Equalix the Mighty. They believe that any flame will suffice and will readily take their loved ones to any crematorium to have them cremated.

Vampyres, on the other hand, belive that cremation traps the soul on this earth to wander until the end of time. They believe that the body should be allowed to decompose on it’s own terms. The deceased is to be laid to rest in a wooden casket and burried at least six feet in the earth.

However, this is not a strict guideline as is the Werewolf preperations, and many Vampyres prefer to house their deceased loved ones in stone, concrete or brick crypts. This is because they believe that the soul enjoys visiting its’ previous body to admire its’ beauty before moving on to its’ next life. They believe that it is easier for the soul to return if the Vampyre’s body is not burried and incased in a silver or other metalic casket.

So you see why the cultures of these two civilizations have alway astonished humans, for they too have innumeral methods for taking care of our deceased.

Until next time my children, may your journey be peaceful.
