The Contessa’s Castle sit on top of a mountain on the east end of the island of St. Croix. I have not been up to the castle but I am sure the view is unbelievable.
The Castle sit on the south side of the island which is six miles wide and twenty six miles long. Because of the prevailing winds the rain that comes to the island falls mostly on the north side because the clouds drop the rain before they can cross the island because of the high mountains. The south side is a semiarid land scape even though it is on a tropical island, strange but true.
