Artist's Description

We are in a winter storm here in Southeast Missouri. We are getting freezing rain and sleet now with 4 to 8 inches of snow to follow. The wild birds can not get out of the weather elements and this type of weather is really hard on them. The freezing rain sticks to their feathers, lowers their body temperatures and makes it hard to fly. This is how this Cardinal attempted to remove the ice from its feathers. He succeeded somewhat but not completely.
