RAIN CLOUDS

There is a sense of doom before me
The sky is changing from sunny and bright;
to dark and foreboding.
The heat from the noonday sun is being replaced
by the chill of these pregnant clouds of doom,
or so it seems.

I can’t run, they are everywhere above my head,
ready to swamp me in its cool nectar,
to bathe me whether I want to, or not.

I will stand here and be soaked by it
Without a raincoat
or a hat,
or an umbrella.

Just let it massage away my hurt,
and invigorate my spirit
So when it departs here,
and the sun comes out again
— for it will.
I will enjoy and appreciate its warmth,
and the doom of despair I felt a while ago,
will be no more.
