Artist's Description

Another image in the series of watercolour creations of Balinese dancers from Ubud. This again is another converted photograph of a trance dancer. The title of the image came to me from the motion of the dancers hand and her fan, also the peculiar way the watercolour conversion seemed to create a sense of fire and heat to the left and right of the dancer.

Canon EOS 500D
exp: 1/100 f:5.6
ISO: 400 F/L: 250mm

Shot in RAW, adjustments and conversion to watercolour in Elements 9

I love going to the different varieties of dances in Bali and often repeatedly see the same ‘shows’ on the tourist circuit particularly in Ubud. The sets, costumes and performances although aimed at the tourist market are a delight to see and photograph, the beauty can be astounding.
