Lets Pretend

Just an echo when there’s no one there,
A broken shell, a hollow stare.
A playground left completely bare.

Imagine ghostly children playing,
on the swings in the wind gently swaying.
There are scuffs in the grass where their feet were laying.

Birds sit on railings, mimic their screams,
as if they climbed on the creaking beams.
The playground can pretend it seems.
